Biography:When Hyejin was born into the world on July 23rd 1996 her parents held their breaths. Three years previously their first child almost didn’t make it and the pair were scared of a repeat. They needn’t have worried though; Hyejin was born a healthy, screaming baby which continued on for many nights afterwards. As she grew into a rambunctious child and found her own path it became clear that the Ahn’s were set to be a creative family. Her sister had a powerhouse of a voice and dreamed to go far, Hyejin’s interests lay somewhere much quieter for such an active child.

It started when she was a small child, always making stories up and telling them to people. Friends and acquaintances would comment on what an active imagination she had while her parents would merely shake their heads; sometimes it was hard getting her out of that imagination and paying attention to the real world.  When she learnt to write her stories were transferred to paper, and while they made little sense then, as she grew older worlds and images started to form in earnest.  Her creations only grew in size and depth, as did her love for the written world - it wasn't that she felt ostrisced in life, nor was she a lonely child, she just found there was so much more to life that what you could see, hear and feel.  A world where you could have anything imaginable appear in your mind captured her.  By middle school she was entering into writing competitions and by high school she was winning them all.

The Ahn sister's were both similar and different, and stars in their own rights.  They were loud, but Hyejin was dorky while her sister seemed blessed with grace.  They were outspoken, but Hyejin said things more like a passing comment.  When they went to church as youngsters the elder was drawn to the choir and met every Sunday with enthsusiasm.  Hyejin liked it less, always finding herself drifting off into daydreams and being pinched back to reality by her parents.  It wasn't that she did it on purpose, it was just that her brain was wired to constantly go off on tangents, a trait that shone through when she spoke, as well as internally.  Despite having so much going on in her head Hyejin was quite an active, involved girl, testing several different sports during her childhood.  The one that stuck with her however, was Taekwondo and while she had always enjoyed it, during her adolescence she began to focus harder, earning herself a black belt.  She admitted loudly and proudly that her motivation came from her sister's rejection from the idol world and a vow to kick the company who dropped her in the butt.  That never happened, but Hyejin is still practicing as part of the Taekwondo club at Yonsei.

While the two sisters had gotten on well enough growing up, it was her sister's rejection from the idol world that brought them closer.  After all, Hyejin felt like she had spent her whole life describing emotions that were never spoken and so she recognised the hurt in her sister's eyes.  And so it broke Hyejin's heart a little when the girl packed her bags and decided she was going to travel the world.  Hyejin was able to keep in contact via social media, but it was never the same and she found herself writing more and more, even branching out into illustration to try and bring the thoughts in her head to life better than ever.  When her sister returned to Korea Hyejin was overjoyed, but she knew that her older sister had suffered more hurt while she was away.

So it only made sense that after she graduated high school she applied to attend Yonsei where her sibling had transferred to, majoring in creative writing and minoring in illustration.  Anything to be close to her sister so they could continue to collaborate and she could be there if anything else went wrong.  In her first few months at the university she happened to run into (quite physcially) a girl in the year above her.   A bright eyed, dimpled girl who literally screamed that her name was Wheein.   Hyejin, went to scream her own back, but her thoughts raced a hundred miles too fast and instead she ended up introducing herself as Hwasa and that was the story of how she ended up pledging to the Delta Phi Epsilon house and gaining a new name.
